Jim Werner is an experienced Certified Financial Planner with Halliday Financial in Long Island, NY. Jim has been a pillar with Halliday since 2009.

Jim offers a personal approach to helping his clients and their families make smart decisions with their finances. As a Certified Financial Planner, he upholds a fiduciary standard of care and has exceeded the industry’s highest standards with regard to experience, ethics, and education.

Jim holds an MBA from Hofstra University and a BS in Civil Engineering from Lafayette College. His professional certifications include FINRA Series 7 and 65, SEC registration, and various insurance licenses.
Since joining Halliday in 2009, Jim has supported the firm’s relationship with the City University of New York as an advisor to CUNY’s base pension and supplemental retirement accounts. He is often called on by CUNY to be speaker at pre-retirement conferences, offering timely topics such as social security planning, tax efficient retirement income strategies, principles of diversification, maximizing employer retirement benefits, and income/expense planning.

Jim also takes great pride in ensuring members of IBT Local 804 achieve financial independence through tailored support and educational seminars on financial topics. His passion for education extends to his role as director and instructor in Molloy College's graduate business program, where he taught courses in personal financial planning.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jim is deeply involved in his community. He is the Treasurer of the Youth and Family Counseling Agency, a non-profit agency providing mental health services to families in the community. He is also a past board member of Sagamore Junior Sailing and the Oyster Bay Rotary Club. In addition, Jim also coached the Blue Collar Bulldogs, a youth baseball team with 100+ wins!
